Song dedicated to Aung San Suu Kyi.
By Douglas Gattini, Chilean Folk Singer.
We consider you an angel, girl from Rangoon
your great fortitude has power that can light up the moon
for the good people of Burma you are a great hope for their lives
peace can respect human rights.
Mahatma Gandhi and non violence’re fixed in your mind
there’s the equality of Mandela and democracy
your speech in the Pagoda was like Martin Luther King’s
words of Aung San Suu Kyi.
Sing, we sing with you, we dance with you, with freedom and without fear
Ring, let’s form a ring, let’s all join hands around the world.
The big struggle for a life lived with dignity
with your needed social economic policy,
aspirations of a girl like her father, just the same:
truth, justice and gentleness.
Like the coolness and the shade: peace, security
a good cause without justice brings no lasting peace
as you say it’s not power that corrupts, but it’s fear
words of Aung San Suu Kyi.
